Portable fire extinguishers – PROTECT is a modern professional aerosol fire extinguisher for manual use, which has no analogues in the world. PROTECT aerosol extinguishers are used in manual mode (as a portable extinguisher), they will perfectly and lightning fast cope with the following classes of fires and fires:
CLASS A: Combustion of solids – flaming combustion. Division A1 (charring not exceeding 1 mm.), model hearth not exceeding 0.7A. Division A2 (broad spectrum). Wind load should be negligible when extinguishing outdoors.
CLASS B: Burning of liquid substances insoluble in water (gasoline, petroleum products, etc.) and liquefiable solids (paraffin, etc.). Combustion of polar liquid substances soluble in water (alcohol, acetone, glycerin, etc.) Wind load during extinguishing in the open air should be insignificant.
CLASS C: Combustion of gaseous substances (Household gas, propane, methane hydrogen, ammonia, etc.).
CLASS E: Combustion of objects and installations energized up to 35 Kv.
AEROSOL FIRE SUPPRESSION: PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
The principle of aerosol fire extinguishing is based on the process of suppression of chain reactions in the flame combustion zone. The efficiency of the aerosol fire extinguishing system is ensured by controlling the chemical combustion processes: when the device is activated, the reagent suppresses the chain reaction and makes it impossible for the flame to spread further.
PROTECT” is a solid aerosol-forming composition (a checker), the fire extinguishing aerosol is released in the course of thermochemical reaction, the checker is in a shell with cooling material to reduce the temperature of the aerosol and is placed in a metal (aluminum) housing. In order for the fire extinguishing aerosol to be triggered, a mechanical, rubbing trigger unit is used in the design of the PROTECT fire extinguishing aerosol.
The principle of aerosol fire extinguishing is as follows: manual mechanical activation of the PROTECT fire extinguisher activates the production of a cloud of active ingredient. Within a few seconds, the reactant fills the volume of the room or fire area and stops the spread of the flame, reducing its intensity to zero. Aerosol fire extinguishing is characterized by long-lasting action (when extinguishing in a conditionally closed room): the particles of the flame-extinguishing agent are very small (up to 10 microns), so they remain in the form of a fine cloud for half an hour, preventing the fire from spreading again.
Declared by the manufacturers of the temperature range of operation and storage of classic powder and carbon dioxide fire extinguishers, as a rule – from -40 to +50 degrees Celsius. But it is obvious that when the ambient temperature drops below -20 -25 degrees Celsius, which is typical for almost most of the territory of the CIS countries and post-Soviet space in winter, the effectiveness of classic fire extinguishers sharply decreases, and air-emulsion fire extinguishers simply stop working.
The dry composition of the solid substance of the PROTECT and PROTECT PRO charge guarantees the release of fire extinguishing aerosol with the same efficiency in the temperature range (storage and use) from -50 to +80 degrees Celsius, which allows the use of this type of fire extinguishers in the extreme North and hot climates.
